200 Hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training

with Easy Tiger Yoga

This training covers...

  • Yoga Philosophy

Yoga philosophy is at the heart of every class at Easy Tiger Yoga. This training will include:

Introduction to Ayurveda, the Chakras, the Koshas, the Nadis, and the Pranya Vayus of the Subtle Body.

Study of the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita.

  • Asana

Our studio believes every body can do yoga but not every pose is for every body. We cover modifications and advanced variations of postures to help you lead a group full of unique bodies.

You will learn the physical and energetic alignment of postures. We also cover the Sanskrit name and how to cue students into postures with skill.

  • Sequencing

This training focuses on sequencing through mindful and intuitive transitions. We focus on peak pose sequencing, as in creating a class where each posture makes sense in relation to the goal of class.

  • Anatomy

You will learn the names of bones and major muscles as well as leave with a basic understanding of how the major joints function.

We offer an introduction to injury management through sequencing, adjustments, and alignment.

While you will leave training with more body awareness and a stronger practice, you will also have the confidence to assist students and help them adapt their practice.

  • Meditation

This training explores various types of meditation through the ancient texts of yoga.

You will leave training with a sustainable home practice as well as the skills to guide a group meditation.

  • Pranayama

We cover various pranayama techniques as well as helping you to commit to a daily pranayama practice.

  • The Subtle Body

You will learn how to work with the subtle body in your practice as well as how to include them skillfully and accessibly into your teaching.

    Chakras: energetic centers.

Koshas: energetic layers that range from outermost to innermost.

Nadis: the intricate system of energetic anatomy.

    Prana Vayus: the inner winds.

  • Teaching Technique

We believe this is where our foundational yoga training shines.

You will learn how to hold the seat of the teacher, find your unique voice as a teacher, and learn to serve your students and the different levels you encounter.

You will receive knowledge on effective marketing, applying for work as a yoga teacher, cuing concepts, teaching online, class structure, group management, and more.

  • What if I am unsure about teaching yoga?

Yoga Teacher Training is a huge investment in resources. It is a dedication of your time and a financial commitment. This training is not for everyone however, we often find many students who want to delve deeper than a 60 minute class to enhance and grow their relationship with yoga, and that is where this training may be a good fit. You can always schedule a call to chat about your goals.

  • How is the day structured?

Each day of training begins with a long, luxurious practice. You'll enjoy either a vinyasa or hatha class that helps to integrate teachings such as anatomy and philosophy.

After practice is an opportunity to take a break, return home to shower, eat, etc. You'll return for lecture and afternoon workshops.

Some of this training is also online, permitting you to work through some of the material at your own pace.

  • What is required to complete the training?

90% of the 200 hours of training must be completed with a successful pass of a final exam. Options are available for absences but we highly recommend not missing more than 2 days of in-person time. Additionally, more than two late appearances will count as a full day absence.
